A Doctor Appointment Reminder That Calls You
Doctor appointments are booked weeks ahead and forgotten in between. The clinic might send a text, or might not. A phone call from your own reminder means you are not relying on anyone else to remember for you.
Why doctor appointments get missed
They are booked far in advance, they rarely fall on the same day each time, and the confirmation often lives in an email you will never open again. By the time the day arrives, nothing is reminding you except a calendar entry you may not look at.
Set up a reminder in two minutes
- Add the appointment to Google Calendar, or create a one-off reminder in DoNotify.
- Choose when the call should come. Many people pick the day before and an hour before.
- Write what the call should say, for example "Dr Patel at 10:30 tomorrow. Bring your medication list."
At that time your phone rings and the message is read out loud. If you miss it, DoNotify calls back from a different number.
Reminders for a parent's appointments
If you help a parent keep track of their appointments, set the reminder from your account and send the call to their phone. It works on a landline or a basic phone, and they do not need to install or sign up for anything. You can set a second reminder to your own phone if you are driving them.
Works alongside the clinic's reminders
If your clinic already sends a text, keep it. A call is a second, louder reminder for the appointments that matter most: specialist visits, scans, and follow-ups that take months to rebook.
