Create your DoNotify account
If you haven't already, sign up for DoNotify. After signing up, go to your Profile and add your phone number — this is the number DoNotify will call when a reminder fires.
Required: You must have a phone number saved in your profile before connecting monday.com. No phone number = no calls.
Connect your monday.com workspace
Navigate to Calendar Reminders → monday.com in your DoNotify dashboard, or go directly to /calendar/monday/connect.
- a. Click Connect monday.com.
- b. monday.com will open an authorization screen showing that DoNotify wants to read your profile information. Click Authorize.
- c. You'll be redirected back to DoNotify and see a green Connected badge.
DoNotify only requests permission to read your profile (name and account ID) — it does not read your board data or items.
Set your lead time (optional)
On the connected page, you can choose how many minutes before the item date you want the call. The default is 15 minutes. Options range from 5 minutes to 1 day in advance.
This setting applies to all monday.com reminders from your account. You can change it at any time by returning to the monday.com connection page.
Add the recipe to a monday.com board
This step is done inside monday.com, not in DoNotify. Repeat it for each board you want to watch.
- 1 Open the monday.com board you want reminders for.
- 2 Click the Integrate button in the board toolbar (top right area).
- 3 In the integrations search box, type DoNotify and select the DoNotify app.
- 4 Choose the recipe: "When date arrives call me with DoNotify."
- 5 Select the date column you want to watch from the dropdown.
- 6 Click Add to Board to activate the recipe.
You can add this recipe to as many boards as you like. Each board is independent — activate it per board.
What happens when the date arrives
monday.com fires the automation
When the date in the watched column arrives, monday.com triggers the recipe automatically.
DoNotify receives the signal
monday.com sends a secure, signed notification to DoNotify with the item details.
Your phone rings
DoNotify places a voice call to the phone number in your profile. The call reads the item name and reminds you of the due date.
Logged in DoNotify
Every call is logged in your Call Logs so you have a full history.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work on all monday.com plans?
Yes. The DoNotify recipe is available on all monday.com plans that support integrations (Basic and above). If you're on the free plan, monday.com integrations may be limited — check monday's plan comparison.
Can multiple team members use this on the same board?
Yes, but each person needs their own DoNotify account connected to their monday.com user. The recipe is per-user — monday sends the notification to the DoNotify account that is linked to the monday user who activated it.
What does the phone call say?
The call reads the item name and the date. For example: "This is DoNotify. Your monday.com item 'Client proposal deadline' is due today." The call uses text-to-speech so it's clear and immediate.
Does it count against my notification quota?
Yes. Each voice call from a monday.com reminder uses one notification from your monthly quota, the same as Google Calendar or Calendly reminders. Upgrade your plan for a higher limit.
How do I stop reminders for a board?
Remove the DoNotify recipe from that board inside monday.com (Integrate → Manage Automations → delete the DoNotify recipe). Alternatively, disconnect DoNotify entirely from the connection page to stop all monday.com calls.
