DoNotify + Shopify
A voice call to your phone the moment an order lands in your store
Connect DoNotify to your Shopify store and your phone rings the instant a new order arrives — no app to check, no notification to miss. Especially useful for COD stores, high-value orders, and solo operators who need to react fast.
Instant alerts
Shopify sends the event to DoNotify within seconds of the order being placed.
Cuts through silence
A real phone call rings even on silent or Do Not Disturb — no missed push notifications.
Filter the noise
Only alert on COD orders, high-value orders, or all orders — you decide.
Create your DoNotify account
Sign up for DoNotify if you haven't already. After signing up, go to your Profile and add your phone number — this is the number that will ring when your store gets an order.
Required: A phone number must be saved in your profile before connecting Shopify. That is the number DoNotify will call.
Connect your Shopify store
Go to Integrations → Shopify in your DoNotify dashboard, or navigate directly to /shopify/settings.
-
a.
Enter your store domain (e.g.
yourstore.myshopify.com) and click Connect Shopify Store. - b. Shopify will open a permission screen showing what DoNotify needs access to: orders. Click Install.
- c. You're redirected back to DoNotify. The connection is live — DoNotify automatically registers webhooks with your store so events are delivered in real time.
DoNotify only requests read access to orders. It cannot create, modify, or delete anything in your store.
Choose which events call you
On the Shopify settings page, toggle the events you care about. You can mix and match:
Triggers the moment a customer completes checkout, regardless of payment status.
Fires when payment is confirmed — useful if you use payment on delivery or manual payment methods.
Alerts you when a refund is processed on any order, so you know immediately.
Fires when an order is cancelled, so you can act before inventory or fulfilment is affected.
Set filters to reduce noise (optional)
High-volume stores can use filters to only ring for the orders that truly need immediate attention.
COD orders only
When enabled, DoNotify only calls you for cash-on-delivery orders. Online-paid orders are ignored. This is the most popular filter for stores operating in markets where COD is common — you need to confirm the order before dispatching, so the call needs to be immediate.
DoNotify detects COD by checking the payment gateway name. Gateways named cod, cash_on_delivery, or cash on delivery (case-insensitive) are treated as COD.
Minimum order total
Set a threshold (e.g. $100) and DoNotify will only call when the order total meets or exceeds it. Useful for stores with high order volume where small orders don't need an immediate call, but big orders do.
Filters stack — for example, you can enable both "COD only" and a minimum total, which means DoNotify will only call you for COD orders above that threshold.
What happens when an order is placed
A customer places an order in your store
Shopify processes the order and immediately sends an event to DoNotify via webhook.
DoNotify checks your settings and filters
If the event type is enabled and the order passes your filters (COD-only, minimum total), DoNotify proceeds to place the call.
Your phone rings
DoNotify places a voice call to the phone number in your profile. The call reads the order number and total so you know what came in before you even open Shopify.
Logged in DoNotify
Every call is logged in your Call Logs. You can see the full history of Shopify alerts and their status.
What the call says
The voice call announces the event type, order number, and order total. For example:
For refunds:
Data and privacy
DoNotify stores only what is necessary to make the connection work: your store domain and an encrypted access token that lets Shopify deliver webhooks. No customer data (names, addresses, emails) is stored.
Shopify's GDPR mandatory webhooks are supported. If a customer requests data deletion or Shopify instructs DoNotify to redact store data, the integration data is removed immediately.
If you disconnect DoNotify from your store, the access token is invalidated and all webhooks are removed from Shopify's side.
Frequently asked questions
Which Shopify plan do I need?
Any paid Shopify plan works — Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Shopify Plus. Development stores (used for testing) also work.
How fast is the call after an order is placed?
Typically within 5–10 seconds. Shopify delivers the webhook within a few seconds of the order event, and DoNotify places the call immediately upon receiving it. The phone usually rings before you'd even see the email.
Can I connect more than one Shopify store?
Currently one store per DoNotify account. Multi-store support is planned for a future release.
Does it count against my notification quota?
Yes. Each call counts as one notification against your monthly DoNotify quota, the same as Google Calendar or Calendly reminders. Use the COD-only and minimum-total filters if you want to keep usage down on high-volume stores.
What if the call doesn't come through?
Every call attempt is logged in your Call Logs. If a call fails (e.g. network issue or phone off), you'll see the status there. Make sure the phone number in your profile is correct and reachable.
How do I disconnect my store?
Go to Integrations → Shopify and click Disconnect Shopify. DoNotify will stop receiving order events immediately. You can also uninstall the DoNotify app directly from your Shopify admin under Settings → Apps.
